Last blogged @ 10:07 PM Today it is VERY early in France and Christiane (the woman who is hosting me--Guillaume's mom) drove to the train station with Dad and I so he could catch his train to the Charles de Gaulles Airport and make his way back to Minnesota. I think we had a really good trip despite my own brand of ornery behavior at times. Dublin was a fun trip, we got to see the Guiness factory, the Jameson's distillery and we made it around to lots of churches, Trinity College, Temple Bar, and any bar or coffee shop that would get us out of the rain! Irish food was interesting, especially breakfast, but the tea was MARVELOUS! Paris was quick but tiring with all of our bags going through the metro but we finally made it to Rennes. :-) Christiane and Guillaume were wonderful hosts, we got to see a lot of Rennes--and even had some great weather (not the norm in Brittany). Benoît met up with us in St. Malo and we toured the ramparts of the old city, saw high and low tide, got to see the Tomb of Chateaubriand, and Dad had his first crêpe in France. We were also invited to Christiane's house near Cap Fréhel and, of course, the ocean. We went on a bit of a hike with Guillaume to see the Cap, the Lighthouse, and then visited Fort La Latte which was very cool and we got some wonderful pictures! Good food, good wine, and good friends--we could not have asked for more. Labels: Pictures from everywhere--I have no idea how to put them in order. Enjoy :-) |
I like this French song...
